Secret Service says three employees to leave over Colombia scandal
Really? Only three?
I must point out that their activities were absolutely LEGAL in Columbia.
They weren’t breaking the law, they were just being foolish, given their job descriptions.
I don’t condone these actions, and have no sympathy for the transgressors. However, the other agents should kick the crap out of the cheapskate, d-head, that tried to cheat his “lady of the evening” out of her rightful payment, and brought down the whole sordid mess.
One hopes this will be used to improve security throughout the secret service, since it seems really unlikely that this could be an isolated incident. The legality of their activities in Colombia is irrelevant -when they stepped off the plane they were on the clock. And they weren’t doing the job the way they were supposed to. Once the Prez heads home they can party their heads off.
Retire, removal, resign! C’mon give me a break. Their actions are tad amount to conspiracy and tractor to the nation. A minimum jail time of 15 years, no pension and loss of passport would be the norm.
SS agents are supposed to be the cream of the crop, professional on every level of behavior when performing services on the behalf of the President of the United States of America.
What these agents did borders on treason for willfully putting themselves and others into a position of comprimising the security of the President and other members of his delegation.
It was not some silly mistake as some would like to portray it. I’ve read other accounts of cocaine found out in the open of the room of the one agent who had the dispute with the hooker.
I’m pretty sure cocaine use or possession is not legal in Columbia.
This is a case of the pot calling the kettle black. Eight or nine out of ten of our congress or senators are fooling around on their spouse and how many times has a president had their mistress sneak into the white house with secret service help. If they were off the clock I say drop it. Let the women get their money and move on.
